The Los Angeles Clippers have confirmed they have waived forward Jordan Hamilton ahead of the new 2015-16 season.

Hamilton originally signed a 10-day contract with the Clippers last season after impressing in the first few weeks.

The club’s board then decided to offer him a new contract until the end of the season but he has not done enough to earn another deal.

He averaged 2.7 points per game last term after playing in 14 matches and he is now free to move on as the Clippers continue to change their roster ahead of the new campaign.

Hamilton’s exit could give Glen Davis a chance of earning another contract with the team as his future continues to dominate the headlines.

The power forward is still without a team and the Clippers look like his only chance of remaining in the NBA.

Davis is still in talks with the west-coast outfit but he is considering other options just in case his move falls through.

‘Big Baby’ has reportedly told sources at Sportando that he would consider moving to China or one of the major European leagues in order to play on a regular basis.

Davis played 74 games last season with the Clippers, averaging four points and 2.3 rebounds in his regular 12 minute spells for the team.

While some reports suggest he is likely to re-sign with his former team, both new recruits Josh Smith and Cole Aldrich are already ahead of him in the pecking order and playing time might be limited.
