West Ham are keen to hit the magical 40-point mark as quickly as possible as they aim to climb up the Premier League table, says Aaron Cresswell.

The Hammers currently sit 12th in the Premier League with 33 points having not won a league game since the start of February.

West Ham have struggled for consistency this term in stark contrast to 2015-16 which saw them sitting fifth and 16 points better off at this stage.

Slaven Bilic’s troops ended last season in a lofty seventh place as they secured European football but that will not be the case this time around.

Cresswell admits that West Ham overachieved last term but he believes they are more than capable of hitting 40 points with still nine games left to play.

“We want to get to that 40-point mark sooner rather than later. “But looking at last year, we finished seventh with 62 points and you could arguably say we overachieved last season.

“But we want to get close to that, or as close as we can to get close to that, and with nine games to go, let’s see what happens.

“It is not going to be one of them where we give up, we are going to fight to the end and try and get as many points on the board as we can and push further up that table.”

West Ham can be backed at 3.00 to move three points closer to 40 points on Saturday when they travel to face Hull, who are priced at 2.50 to claim a win, while the draw is available at 3.30.
