Arjen Robben has warned the rest of Europe that Bayern Munich are focused on Champions League glory following their crushing 5-1 win over Arsenal on Tuesday.

After winning last month’s first leg between the sides by the same scoreline, Bayern struggled early on at the Emirates and trailed at the break to a Theo Walcott goal.

However, they soon bounced back as a late brace from Arturo Vidal followed strikes from Robert Lewandowski, Douglas Costa and Robben himself to seal an impressive 10-2 aggregate triumph.

It means Bayern will now go into the hat for the quarter-final draw in Nyon on March 17 and following some difficult moments during the opening part of the season, appear to be finding their form at just the right time.

The Bavarians have fallen in the semi-finals in each of the last three seasons since winning the tournament in 2013 and boss Carlo Ancelotti was appointed to use the experience gained from his three previous triumphs to help get them over the line.

Bayern are currently the 3.50 favourites to lift the trophy at the conclusion of the tournament in Cardiff in June, with holders Real Madrid 4.75.

Robben admits there is still a long way to go in the competition but says his side are extremely confident about guiding the club to European glory for the sixth time in its history.

“Let’s take it step by step without getting carried away,” the Dutchman told the club’s official website.

“We’re only in the quarter-finals and they will be full of strong teams.

It will be really tough. “It doesn’t have to end in the quarter-finals. We know exactly what we want.”
