Arsenal winger Alexis Sanchez has thanked team-mate Santi Cazorla for his efforts this season and claims he has made a big impression on him after he joined the Gunners from Barcelona last summer.

Sanchez has been a revelation this season in Arsenal’s resurgence in the Premier League and their run to the FA Cup final, where they are 1.33 to overcome Aston Villa at Wembley next month and retain their crown.

The Chilean has found the back of the net 14 times in the league and has been in scintillating form since securing a big-money move from the Nou Camp.

Sanchez has also played a role in helping the Gunners to reach the FA Cup final while also seeing them climb up to second in the league.

The former Udinese man has singled out Cazorla for praise as he believes he is one of the most talented players he has lined up alongside.

Sanchez said: “Santi Cazorla is a spectacular player. Although I knew about his quality, playing alongside him makes me very happy.

“You never know whether he will kick the ball with his right or left foot. Also, he moves with short but quick strides, which is a remarkable trademark too.”

Sanchez is one of the nominees for the PFA Player of the Year award which will be presented at a dinner in London on Sunday night.

He is up against Chelsea duo Eden Hazard and Diego Costa, as well as Philippe Coutinho, David de Gea and Harry Kane.
