Crystal Palace manager Tony Pulis believes new signing Frazier Campbell can shine in front of goal next season after completing his move from Cardiff City.

The former Manchester United striker left the Bluebirds at the weekend after he was unable to help them remain in the Premier League at the first time of asking.

Campbell is the Eagles’ first major signing of the summer as Pulis looks to improve on their fortunes from last season.

The former Stoke boss did brilliantly to guide his team to 11th in the Premier League, despite looking like relegation candidates under Ian Holloway.

Campbell scored nine goals last season and Pulis is confident he can do more for his side next season.

“We need goals and people who can put the ball in the back of the net. It’s an area we need to improve so we’re pleased to sign Fraizer,” he said.

“He’s got a good attitude and works hard. He will blend in well with the rest of the group.”

The Eagles, 3.60 to be relegated next season, have been linked with a number of players this summer and Pulis is expected to add to his squad in the next few weeks before the start of the campaign.

The likes of Hull City defender Curtis Davies, Stoke midfielder Steven N’Zonzi and Tottenham’s Lewis Holtby have all been mentioned but Pulis has yet to finalise any more deals.
