Felipe Anderson’s agent Stefano Castagna says his client is “really happy in Rome” and quashed rumours of the Brazil Under-21 international leaving Lazio in the summer.

The 21-year-old has been outstanding for the Italian outfit this season, scoring nine goals and setting up another six in 22 Serie A appearances, and the attacking midfielder has been heavily tipped to move on.

The Premier League trio of Manchester City, Chelsea and Manchester United were all reportedly interested in the Brazilian and each club were said to have sent scouts to watch the player in action.

Anderson only recently signed a new deal at Lazio to keep him at the club until 2020 and the midfielder doesn’t look like he will be going anywhere soon following the comments made by Castagna.

“We recently signed a contract extension with Lazio and he is really happy in Rome,” he told Italian radio station Radiosei.

“The player still had three-and-a-half years left in his contract and there was no rush to sign a new deal.

“However, we are happy that they have given the player this trust and given him the possibility to continue with this project. It was not difficult to reach an agreement to renew his contract as we have an excellent rapport with the club.

“We are very happy that the president and his staff have shown a lot of faith in Anderson.”

Lazio have been in sensational form in the league recently and they have climbed to third in Serie A after winning six consecutive matches, leaving the club just one point adrift of city rivals Roma.

The White and Blues travel to Cagliari next on April 4 and the visitors are favourites at 1.83 to pick up all three points while the hosts are a 4.12 chance.
