New Blackburn signing Bradley Dack knows his side will face a tough battle if they are to secure an instant return to the Championship.

Rovers were relegated from the second tier on the final day of last season and boss Tony Mowbray has already set about changing his squad, bringing in four new players to date, including attacking midfielder Dack for £750,000 from League One rivals Gillingham.

Dack has plenty of experience of League One following his five-year stint with the Gills and knows Blackburn will not find it easy during the campaign, despite their billing as one of the standout teams in the division.

“It is a tough league,” the 23-year-old said. “I think it is completely different to the Championship.

“There are some tough games and tough places to go to on a cold Tuesday night to try and win. So we’ve got to learn how to win all types of games.”

Despite his warning, Dack is relishing the prospect of representing Rovers, although he admits he will have his work cut out to secure a regular place in Mowbray’s side.

He added: “Obviously it is going to be tough to get in the team because of the players in the squad, but you’ve got your own ability and hopefully I can get in there.”

Dack will be hoping to be included in Rovers’ starting line-up for their opening match of the campaign at Southend on August 5.

Blackburn are priced at 2.63 to win that match, while Southend are available at 2.75 and the draw is on offer at 3.10.
