Swansea City head coach Francesco Guidolin is confident his players have enough determination and quality to haul themselves away from the relegation zone.

Swansea started off their season in good fashion by recording a 1-0 victory over newly-promoted Burnley and the momentum from the previous campaign was still very much apparent.

However, the feel-good factor was short-lived and they have suffered five defeats from the last six Premier League matches, with just one point picked up from a possible 18.

The latest loss came on Saturday at the Liberty Stadium as Liverpool came from behind to record a 2-1 victory, lifting the Reds to second in the table.

It was a decent performance from the Welsh outfit though and they should have claimed a share of the spoils in the dying moments but Mike van der Hoorn missed the target from six yards out.

The pressure is mounting Guidolin as the international break arrives but the Italian tactician is adamant the squad can pick up their form and climb away from the bottom three.

“I am sure in the future this team can turn this situation,” he said. “The relationship between my players and me is perfect. The best thing in these nine months is to meet my players.

I am sure they have good qualities, good character. “I am worried for the table, not my position. It is not good. We need more points.”

Swansea return to Premier League action on October 15 when they face a difficult away trip to the Emirates to take on title-chasing Arsenal, who are 9.00 to lift the trophy.

The Gunners are firm 1.22 favourites to clinch all three points, a draw is priced at 6.00 while the visitors are the rank outsiders at 12.00.
