Hull manager Steve Bruce has quashed rumours linking him with a move to Championship outfit Fulham, claiming it is just “rubbish journalism”.

Bruce has come under growing pressure at the KC Stadium this season as the Tigers struggle to build on an impressive return to the top flight last term.

The Humberside outfit, who are priced at 2.40 to be relegated, currently sit just inside the bottom three, one point from safety and three above rock-bottom Leicester.

The former Wigan and Sunderland boss guided Hull to the FA Cup final and helped to ensure they retained top-flight status last season, leading to the owners opening their cheque book.

Hull drafted in a number of summer signings to strengthen the squad but the majority have struggled to find their feet.

The likes of Abel Hernandez and Gaston Ramirez have been hindered by injuries, while Hatem Ben Arfa’s season-long loan was terminated early.

Recent reports had suggested that Bruce could be offered a £15million deal to take charge of Championship side Fulham in the summer.

However, the 54-year-old insists that there is no truth and has hit out at the media for doing a poor job.

Bruce said: “The biggest problem I’ve got with the whole thing is they’ve got a manager in situ at Fulham [Kit Symons].

“I’ve got huge respect for Kit, who is new to the job.

“I can’t comment on it because if I comment on it it just fuels it even more, and as far as I’m concerned it’s rubbish journalism.”
