Blackburn Rovers players Modou Barrow and Lee Williamson have both been called up for international duty during the upcoming break.

Barrow will be hoping to build on his one cap for Gambia while Williamson could gain his first taste of international action with Jamaica.

Gambia will face Cameroon in their 2017 African Cup of Nations qualifier at the Independence Stadium in Bakau on Sunday 6 September.

Jamaica meanwhile have a double-header against Nicaragua as they embark on a campaign they hope will lead them to the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

Gambia played out a scoreless draw with South Africa 0-0 in their opening qualifier back in June, and they now face a Cameroon side that beat Mauritania 1-0 in their first match.

Jamaica were Beaten CONCACAF Gold Cup finalists back in July and they welcome Nicaragua to Kingston on Friday before travelling for the return clash in Managua on Tuesday 8 September.

The Reggae Boyz join the qualification process at the third stage, whilst the Nicaraguans have already knocked out Anguilla and Suriname to get this far.

Barrow came off the bench for Rovers in Friday’s scoreless Lancashire derby with Bolton at Ewood Park.
The 22-year-old striker, on loan from Swansea, was unable to break the deadlock after replacing Nathan Delfouneso with just over ten minutes remaining.

The point left Rovers in 21st position in the Championship table as Gary Bowyer’s side struggle to turn decent performances into victories with three draws from five league games to date.

Following a slow start to the campaign, Blackburn are now 4.50 to be relegated to League One.
