Celtic first-team coach John Collins is adamant there is no complacency in the squad ahead of their Champions League third-round qualifier against Qarabag on Wednesday night.

The Scottish champions are getting set to host the title holders in Azerbaijan at Parkhead, with the Hoops the firm favourites to progress.

Celtic have looked strong in the competition so far this summer, having cruised through their second-round encounter 6-1 on aggregate against Stjarnan.

Manager Ronny Deila and his side will be looking to put the tie to bed in Glasgow on Wednesday night before what could be a potential banana skin of an away trip.

Collins is not willing to take anything for granted after the comprehensive win over Icelandic part-times Stjarnan and has urged his players to be at their best for the arrival of Qarabag.

He told the Belfast Telegraph: “The Celtic fans are very smart. They know there are no mugs at this level of European football.

“I would rate them as a good football team, I would say definitely Champions League standard. They like to pass the ball and there is good movement throughout their team.

“And don’t worry, the players know all about Qarabag. We have briefed them.”

Celtic are the 1.44 favourites to win at Parkhead on Wednesday, with the draw at 4.00, while the Azerbaijan champions are 8.00 to pull off a shock win in Glasgow.
