Jurgen Klopp believes Liverpool produced one of their best attacking displays since he took over in the 4-2 win at Crystal Palace.

Klopp’s side were slow from the blocks at Selhurst Park, with the German admitting the opening 15 minutes were disjointed, but thereafter they produced some scintillating attacking football.

Crystal Palace were powerless to halt the relentless attacking intent from the visiting team and, in truth, the only surprise was that Liverpool did not score more than the four goals from Emre Can, Dejan Lovren, Joel Matip and Roberto Firmino that cancelled out James McArthur’s brace for Palace.

Klopp was delighted with that he witnessed and insisted it was amongst the standout attacking performances during his first year as Liverpool boss.

“What can I say, first 15 minutes I was not too happy,” Klopp told BT Sport. “It looked a little bit like childish football – very good but no greed, no direction.

We were good but that should not work. It didn’t work actually and then we scored and we started playing football. “I’m not sure that we played a lot of times better than we played then offensive-wise.

In half an hour we created chance after chance and scored not often enough, but we scored and then we opened up the game ourselves again.”

The victory over Crystal Palace ensured Liverpool stay level with Manchester City and Arsenal at the top of the Premier League.

The Reds are now unbeaten in 11 games in all competitions since their sole league defeat of the season at Burnley on August 20. Liverpool are 4.33 to win the Premier League this season, with Man City 2.20 and Arsenal 5.50.
