Liverpool midfielder Marko Grujic is hoping he can kick on and earn more opportunities in the Premier League after making his first appearance at home on Saturday.

The Serbian signed for Liverpool, who are priced at 6.00 to win the Premier League, in January but was loaned back to Red Star Belgrade for the second half of last term.

The 20-year-old spent pre-season with Jurgen Klopp and the rest of the squad and is now trying to fight his way into contention on a regular basis.

Grujic made his first start for the Merseyside club in the EFL Cup victory over Derby last week before being handed his Premier League bow at the weekend.

The midfielder came off the bench on the 74th minute in the 5-1 triumph over Hull at Anfield and he is hoping to add to his first Premier League appearance.

Klopp has a great deal of options to select from in the middle third and Grujic admitted that he is happy to fight for his place this season.

Grujic said: “Every player and the people in the stadium enjoyed the game. “It was my first game at Anfield and the feeling was incredible.

“We played very well and scored three goals in the first half, and then we continued the same in the second half. I was happy to get some more minutes, it’s nice to be part of it.

“All of the players in my position, and other positions, are playing very well.

We have had good results to start the season. We will be better from week to week. I will try to show my skills in training to get more minutes in the Premier League.”
