Manchester City star David Silva has insisted he is happy at the Etihad Stadium and has no intention of moving on despite interest from abroad.

City’s recent struggles has seen a number of stories emerge about certain players at the club but the Spanish ace, who has played over 200 times for City since his £26m move from Valencia back in 2010, says he is very happy where he is and has no intention of moving on.

The 29-year-old only signed a new and lucrative five-year deal at the club last August and despite reported interest from La Liga leaders Barcelona, he wants to stay where he is.

He told Spanish paper Marca: “I’m happy, people treat me really well.

“Although I’m not thinking about it right now, if I had to return to Valencia, I wouldn’t rule it out. However, I’d also like to play and hang up my boots at UD Las Palmas.”

Silva is targeting an improvement in the Champions League next season for City, adding: “We’ve won two league titles and other silverware but we have to go that step further in the Champions League.”

City have not yet given up on retaining their Premier League crown and they are next in action on Monday night away at Crystal Palace and are 1.67 to pick up the victory.

With their game not until after everyone else has played, they could feasibly have dropped down to fourth in the Premier League standings prior to the match.
