Chelsea coach Antonio Conte has admitted he wants to stay at the club for a long time as he tries to replicate Jose Mourinho’s success at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues, on offer at 11.00 to win the Premier League title, turned to Conte in the summer after his successful stints in charge of Juventus and Italy.

He guided Juve to three successive Serie A titles before taking the Italian national job and helping his side reach the knockout stages of the European Championships in the summer.

Conte is under pressure to deliver immediate success, following last season’s disappointing campaign under Mourinho.

The now Manchester United coach was sacked in December after a disastrous start and the west London outfit eventually finished in mid-table.

Despite the pressure, Conte is hopeful that he will be given time at the club as he tries to carry out his long-term plan.

“Jose was a very important manager in the story of this club,” he told reporters. “I hope to work with this club for many years and to build something important, for the present, for the future.

“It’s important also to have time to work and to build, because it’s important now to work a lot, work really hard and to build something important.

“When I signed my contract with Chelsea I signed for three years. In my mind is to stay here for three years and to build with the club success for this club.

“It’s important when I come back to my house [that] my conscience is very clear. It’s important to give [my] all always, every day. Work, work, work, to build, to work, then you’ll see at the end of the season.”
