Big-spending French outfit Monaco say they have been offered the chance to sign Manchester United forward Nani but have yet to begin talks.

Monaco have arguably been the biggest spenders in Europe so far this summer when landing top quality players such as Radamel Falcao, James Rodriguez, Joao Moutinho, Eric Abidal and Jeremy Toulalan.

Monaco sporting director Vadim Vasilyev has hinted that further signings could be in the pipeline before the closure of the transfer window and is refusing to rule out a move for Nani.

The Portuguese ace still has a year to run on his Old Trafford contract but he will be allowed to leave this summer and Monaco now have to decide whether or not to make a move.

“He has been proposed to us,” Vasilyev told French newspaper L’Equipe.

“He is a very good player, but there have been no talks so far.

“We have already changed our group quite a bit and we also want to offer opportunities to our young players.

“We still have time to make a few alterations before the end of the transfer window, if needed.”

United do not want to risk losing Nani for nothing in 12 months and would be willing to listen to offers in the region of £13million, which is small change to Monaco these days.
