Alexis Sanchez admits he has been left frustrated at Arsenal’s failure to challenge for the Premier League title this season.

The Gunners will head into the final day of the league season fifth in the standings, a full 18 points behind champions Chelsea.

Arsene Wenger’s men never looked like sustaining a title challenge this season and, despite the fact they can still secure qualification for next season’s Champions League following a run of four straight victories, Sanchez remains frustrated at the team’s failure to challenge for top spot.

The Chile international revealed: “Sometimes the frustration more than anything is about the fact we could be challenging for the Premier League title.”

Sanchez, who has scored 23 times in the Premier League this season and provided a further 10 assists, believes a lack of mental strength is one of the main reasons Arsenal have failed to challenge for league glory this term.

“I’ve always said we have great players here, it’s just about having the mentality of being a great player and going out on to the pitch already thinking about winning,” he added.

Arsenal will be hoping a victory over Everton at the Emirates Stadium on the final day will be enough to secure them a top-four finish for a 21st successive season.

The North Londoners are priced at 1.44 to win the match, while the Toffees are available at 7.00 and the draw is on offer at 4.75.
