Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has asked his team to use their FA Cup semi-final win over Tottenham to build momentum as they look to secure the Premier League title.

The Blues advanced to the final after battling to a 4-2 victory on Saturday, with Nemanja Matic grabbing the headlines with a stunning strike.

Spurs continued to push against their rivals but fell short on the day and now their only chance of silverware is in the Premier League.

Mauricio Pochettino’s men are four points behind Chelsea in the title race with six games to go and Conte believes that Spurs have the advantage.

However, ahead of his side’s clash against Southampton on Tuesday the Italian has urged his troops to push on and move closer to a domestic double.

He told reporters: “We have to try to exploit the momentum. I think this week is crucial for us.

They have the advantage. We have to play after two days and a half and Tottenham have one day more to rest.

“Sometimes it is difficult to understand this planning of the fixtures but we have to try to answer on the pitch.

“For sure this win is a really important win. They are fighting us for the title.

We have to know that, on Tuesday, we play a tough game against a tough team. I want our fans to be the 12th player.”

Chelsea are 1.44 favourites to win on Tuesday, with the draw 4.75, while Southampton are the big outsiders at odds of 8.00.
