Everton midfielder Ross Barkley insists it is a pleasure to play alongside “perfect striker” Romelu Lukaku, who is looking to finish the campaign as the Premier League’s top goalscorer.

The Belgian has enjoyed his best season in the English top flight, with 24 goals to his name to help Everton to a seventh-placed finish.

Lukaku currently sits two goals better off than Tottenham frontman Harry Kane in the race for the Golden Boot as he looks set to become the first Toffees player to win the accolade since the league’s inception in 1992-93.

Barkley boasts eight assists for the 2016-17 season, with half of them being laid on for Lukaku to tuck away, and he insists it makes his job easier to see the former Chelsea man making such intelligent runs week after week.

“Everyone knows what type of player Rom is – he’s a big striker who gets loads of goals,” Barkley told Everton’s official website.

“He’s got a lot of attributes and, playing behind him, you know that once you turn he is going to be making a lot of good runs.

You try to find him so he can stick it in the back of the net. He’s a great striker to be playing with.

“He finishes things off – you put it on a plate for him and he is going to put it away.”

The duo could both be leaving Goodison Park this summer – if reports are to be believed – so the final-day clash against Arsenal might be their last chance to contribute to the cause.

Everton can be backed at 6.00 to take all three points away from the Emirates on Sunday while Arsenal are priced at 1.53 to claim a home win. The draw is available at 4.50.
