Hull City coach Marco Silva insists his team will fight hard until the end of the season as they look to stay in the Premier League.

The Tigers, 2.63 to go down, gave themselves a great chance of survival as they beat Watford 2-0 on Saturday afternoon.

Silva’s men had to do it the hard way as they saw striker Oumar Niasse sent-off in the 25th minute but they found enough to win.

Winger Lazar Markovic opened the scoring before Sam Clucas’ sensational strike sealed all three points as Hull remained two points above 18th-placed Swansea City.

Silva has now guided his side to 19 points from a possible 21 since arriving at the KCOM Stadium and the Portuguese coach is confident the team will continue to fight for each other.

“I am really happy. It was a tough game for us and it was not easy to play most of the game with ten players,” he is quoted as saying by Sky Sports.

“But all the boys were fantastic, we always keep focused on our tactical behaviour.

We changed some things at half-time, because we needed to with only 10 players. “I am really happy in this moment because our hope remains open.

If I remember, in the last three months, nobody believed we’d be in this position. Nobody believed in our club; we will fight together. Because we fight together, we play together.

“I don’t know what the future will be, what I know is we will fight so hard to keep this club in the Premier League and we’ll see the result.”
