QPR boss Chris Ramsey insists star striker Charlie Austin could remain at Loftus Road this summer despite relegation last season.

The west Londoners will be back in the Championship after a season in the Premier League, although Austin is a player in demand during the current transfer window.

The 26-year-old, who was called into the England squad after firing home 18 goals in the top flight last season, has been linked with Newcastle, Leicester, West Ham and Crystal Palace.

The Foxes are understood to have seen a £12million bid turned down by QPR because they value him at around the £15million mark.

Austin has one year remaining on his Loftus Road contract after arriving from Burnley in 2013 but Ramsey has not given up on keeping him on board yet.

“There have been offers,” Ramsey told Sky Sports News. “With a player of Charlie’s ability, there will always be speculation.

“At the moment, there has been nothing concrete. We’ve had offers that we’ve rejected, and we’ve had offers that Charlie himself has not been happy to take on.

“At the moment, he’s a QPR player and he’s working hard in training. I’m having the idea that he will be here into the season. If he is here during the season then he is going to be someone that we want to use.”

QPR are 15.00 to win the Championship next season and 5.50 to secure promotion back to the Premier League at the first attempt.
