AC Milan coach Vincenzo Montella has played down his side’s chances of claiming Serie A glory this season.

The Rossoneri are currently enjoying a good run of form, as they are unbeaten in their last five league matches, with Sunday’s 3-1 success at Chievo seeing them move up to third in the overall standings.

The Milanese giants have not won the Scudetto since 2011, while they have also failed to qualify for Europe in each of the last three seasons.

Montella believes his side are now showing signs of improvement, and he confirmed that Europe is the aim for the club this season, although he doubts whether they can mount a serious challenge for league glory.

“I can feel the air of Europe now,” Montella told Mediaset. Milan will face their toughest test of the season to date when they take on reigning champions and league leaders Juventus at the San Siro on Saturday, and Montella believes they will be facing one of the best teams in Europe in the clash.

The 42-year-old continued: “On Saturday we play against Juve, one of the best teams in Europe. Is it a Scudetto clash? Certain situations are not for us, we are keeping a low profile. Milan have been out of Europe for too long.”

Montella’s men are available at 4.20 to win the match, while the Old Lady are priced at 1.85 and the draw is on offer at 3.50.
