Swansea City interim manager Garry Monk is hoping imminent talks with the club’s hierarchy will shed more light on his future at the Liberty Stadium.
The 35-year-old took over from Michael Laudrup during a difficult time in the club’s season but Monk appears to have done enough to keep the Swans from getting sucked into the relegation zone, with one more win likely to be enough to keep the Welsh outfit up.
Still registered as a player at the club, Monk looks unlikely to put his boots back on for the team and a future in management looks destined for the Englishman.
The Swans boss has admitted he does not know whether he will be at the helm next term and all his focus for the time being is getting the win over Aston Villa on Saturday at the Liberty Stadium.
He said: “I’m sure in the near future that talks will be happening.
“Hopefully I will sit down with the chairman and the board and see where they want to go and what part of their plans I come into.
“But my future is not down to me. I’m just focused on what I’m doing right now, trying to get the win against Villa.”
Swansea will be looking build on their 2-1 victory over Newcastle United in their last outing when they host Paul Lambert’s Villa.
The Swans are 1.67 to secure the win, the draw is 3.71, while Villa are 4.96 for victory.
