Swansea manager Garry Monk has avoided punishment from the FA after claiming Stoke City’s Victor Moses was “cheating” during their recent clash with the Potters.

The Swans boss made the claims after his team fell to a 2-1 defeat at the Britannia Stadium on October 19, after the Nigerian international Moses went to ground easily in the box to win his side a penalty.

Monk had also called referee Michael Oliver’s decision to give the spot-kick during the game on 19 October “disgusting”.

The 35-year-old was asked by the FA to explain his comments but avoided punishment. The Welsh club have also confirmed that no disciplinary measures were being taken against their manager.

After the game at the Britannia, Monk also voiced his frustration at a number of decisions he feels have gone against Swansea this season, and sent a list of what he considers to be refereeing mistakes to Mike Riley who is the general manager of the Professional Game Match Officials Ltd; the board who oversee refereeing in the Premier League.

The Swans take a trip to Goodison Park at the weekend, where Toffees manager Roberto Martinez faces his old side. The visitors have only won once in their last six fixtures, a 2-0 victory over Leicester last weekend, whereas Everton have won three of their last six, including both of their previous two games, and so look to be on the better form.

Martinez’s Everton are 1.70 to take three points on Saturday, with Monk’s Swansea at 5.46.
