Paris Saint-Germain captain Thiago Silva admits he is worried about their form following Friday’s 2-0 defeat at Toulouse.

Les Parisiens suffered their second loss of the season at the Stadium Municipal thanks to second half goals from Yann Bodiger and Jimmy Durmaz, after Serge Aurier had been sent off for two yellow cards.

Having only suffered two domestic defeats in the entirety of last term, questions are being asked about new boss Unai Emery’s methods, as well as the ability of his players to perform without the departed Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Next up is a trip to Ludogorets in the Champions League on Wednesday, a game they are the 1.36 favourites to win, with the draw 4.75 and the Bulgarians priced at 8.50.

Silva will be hoping for an improved performance, especially as one of the reasons for Emery’s appointment was to help the club transfer their domestic dominance onto the continental stage following his exploits at Sevilla.

Speaking after Friday’s defeat, the Brazilian conceded his team’s form concerns him, admitting that they have plenty of work to do.

“Yes, it was difficult, it was not a good match for us. We didn’t manage to play, to find the spaces. They deserved to win,” Silva said. “It’s not usual to have two defeats like that, but that’s football.

We have to stay calm. “What worries me a bit is that we lost some of our game. I think that, gradually, it’ll come back. “Last year we started the season well and finished it better.

This year we haven’t started well, but the season is long. You have to think as a team. For now, we have to think about how we can change things.”
