Hull City will be out to improve their feeble goal tally when they meet fellow low scorers Stoke City on Saturday evening.

Hull have scored just 13 goals in 15 matches so far during this Premier League season, while opponents Stoke have found the net on just two more occasions.

Not surprisingly there have been plenty of blank days, with 13 racked up between the two lowest scoring sides in the top flight.

However, Hull supporters can take heart after they claimed the scalp of Liverpool 3-1 at the KC Stadium, while they were also good value in the 1-1 draw at Swansea on Monday night.

The Liverpool result was outstanding when you consider that six of Hull’s seven defeats have come against top-eight sides, and they will approach this match in confident mood, with a midfield trio of Jake Livermore, Tom Huddlestone and David Meyler forming a good understanding.

Stoke have lost just one in seven, and that was at Everton, so they too have been pretty resilient. However, the fact midfielder Charlie Adams is top scorer with three goals maybe tells their story.

With no Matthew Etherington or Robert Huth, and goalkeeper Asmir Begovic also absent, it could be a testing evening for the visitors on Saturday.
