Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure has confirmed he will be staying with the Premier League champions and is also urging Manuel Pellegrini to bring in some fresh faces over the summer.

Toure’s future with the Citizens had been in doubt after the player’s agent, Dimitry Seluk, had claimed that his client felt ‘disrespected’ by the club’s owners.

Seluk made the statement earlier in the summer following a squad trip to the United Arab Emirates to celebrate their Premier League title triumph.

The Ivorian seemed to support his agent’s claims on his Twitter account and later suggested that he was unsure which club he would be playing for next season.

The former Barcelona man has since confirmed that he would like a ‘job for life’ with the Etihad outfit and appears to be keen on helping the side emerge as European heavyweights.

Toure said: “It was not a case of leaving the club. It was difficult because my situation was quite difficult.

“For me I was always quiet and my decision is that I will stay at Manchester City for as long as possible.”

The 31-year-old signed a new four-year deal last season and he hopes the owners will provide the funds for Pellegrini to add new signings this summer.
He added: “If we want to be the best, we need to win every trophy possible.”

City, who are 3.00 to win the Premier League title, have already secured the services of Fernando, who has joined for a fee of £12million from Porto, while it is understood that defender Eliaquim Mangala has agreed a switch but the club is yet to officially confirm the deal.
