Force India driver Paul di Resta has insisted he is in no panic regarding his future with the Formula One team ahead of the Indian Grand Prix this weekend.

The Scot has not yet been confirmed a seat with the Silverstone-based outfit for the 2014 campaign and could be offered a place with a rival team next year.

Having missed out on a seat at McLaren last year, with Sergio Perez getting the nod to drive alongside Jenson Button, Di Resta currently sits in 11th spot in the World Championship, two places above Perez with four races of the season remaining.

Force India are looking to close down the 21-point gap on McLaren in the Constructors’ Championship this weekend in New Delhi and an improved performance in their last outing in Japan has given the team hope.

Di Resta, for now, is calm on his future with the team and feels he has done enough this year to warrant a new deal ahead of what he hopes will be good weekend in India.

He said: “I don’t feel uncertain. Force India have come out and said what they want to say and we’re making sure we’re not missing any opportunities. I think in the midfield, nobody’s certain anywhere at the moment.

“I can’t speak for them but I think I’ve delivered this year when I’ve been given the chance. Sometimes I’ve delivered more and places in qualifying where we’ve had mistakes.

“It’s all part of it. And at Suzuka we proved that when we get it all back under control and everything runs smoothly, we can deliver a good weekend.”
