Jordan Spieth is confident he can bounce back from his disappointment last weekend at this week’s Dean & DeLuca Invitational.

The world number two was second heading into the final day of the AT&T Byron Nelson but a fourth round of four-over 74 saw him drop to 18th in the standings in his home state of Texas.

Spieth has failed to produce his best this year on a Sunday and his collapse on the back nine at the Masters has left him facing some serious questions.

This week sees the PGA Tour move on to the Dean & DeLuca Invitational at Colonial, a course where the 22-year-old has finished in the top 10 twice in his three appearances.

Following his recent blips, Spieth says he is refusing to panic and insists the level of play on the PGA Tour means it is always going to be tough to get the job done.

He is now focussing on getting himself back in contention in Fort Worth and is optimistic about the way his game is heading. “It’s really hard to win in general on the PGA Tour.

Doesn’t matter where you are,” Spieth told reporters Monday.

“We’re going to go to a golf course next week where I’ve had success.

“I felt like I found something… that I can fine-tune with my ball-striking – and my putting is there” “I feel very confident.

I almost matched my best finish in six starts here. I can look at that positively.”

Spieth is currently 8.50 to win next month’s US Open while he is 7.50 for the Open Championship.
