European Ryder Cup rookie Rafael Cabrera-Bello says he is ready to embrace the intimidating atmosphere that will greet Darren Clarke’s men at Hazeltine later this month.

The Spaniard is one of six Ryder Cup debutants on Clarke’s roster as Europe go in search of an unprecedented third straight Ryder Cup success on American soil.

Europe have dominated the event in recent times but the United States, under the tutelage of Davis Love III, are seemingly more determined than ever to grab back the cup.

The home crowd at Hazeltine will be eager to replicate the sort of raucous atmosphere that inspired Paul McGinley’s European team to success at Gleneagles two years ago, but Cabrera-Bello insists it will hold no fear for him.

“It might be a bit of an intimidating atmosphere at the start, but we learn to deal with pressure as golfers and myself in particular, I really enjoy that feeling so I don’t see any reason why I shouldn’t love the whole Ryder Cup experience,” he told the Ryder Cup website.

The world number 29 enjoyed a solid performance at the Italian Open over the weekend, finishing in share of 12th spot. With excitement over his Ryder Cup now reaching fever pitch, Cabrera-Bello admits he has been doing some homework to ready himself for the unique atmosphere.

“I’m so excited about it – it’s a dream come true for me. I’ve been watching videos of past Ryder Cups knowing that it will be me playing in this fantastic event this time,” he added.

“I think I know what to expect, but everyone has been saying that it’s more than what you could ever imagine, but it’s something that I’m really looking forward to and something that I’m going to embrace.”

Europe are 2.80 to win the Ryder Cup while the United States are 1.53 and the draw is 11.00.
