Carl Frampton claims his fitness is ‘very good’ as he continues his training regime ahead of the eagerly-awaited super-bantamweight unification showdown against British rival Scott Quigg on February 27.

The 28-year-old Northern Irishman and IBF champion has moved away from his usual training base in Belfast and is now in London where he is continuing his preparations for the big fight at the Manchester Arena.

Frampton is undefeated from 21 professional fights and is relishing the prospect of putting his title and record on the line against WBA belt holder Quigg, who will also have the backing of his home supporters on the night.

Indeed as he expects the toughest fight of his career against Quigg, who has 31 wins and two draws in his undefeated career, Frampton has suggested he would be ready to fight now despite having a month to go before the clash.

“We’re approaching four weeks to go and for the last three weeks I’ve been sparring 10 rounds, which I’m not usually doing so far out, so my fitness is very good,” he told Sky Sports News HQ.

“I’ve brought my weight down and held it down a bit further out – and at a weight that I feel best at.
“At this stage everything is good and positive and I’m starting to get the itch. I want to go now.”

Frampton is aware that many fancy Quigg to come out on top given that he is being billed as the bets in the world in the super-bantamweight division, so it is giving him even more determination to defeat him.

He added: “I just want to prove I know I can beat this guy. Him on his best day and me on my best day? I doubt think there’s any competition.”

Frampton is 1.57 to win the fight, while Quigg is 2.40 and the draw is 21.00.
