WBA Super and WBO heavyweight world champion Tyson Fury has confirmed he was lying about having problems in training camp earlier this week.

The Manchester fighter took to social media earlier this week to claim he had been knocked down three times by a Belgian light heavyweight.

Fury made it obvious he had failed to remain in shape when he spoke at the first press conference to unveil his rematch with Wladimir Klitschko.

The 27-year-old admitted he had let himself go but was determined to return and beat the Ukrainian once again, this time at the Manchester Arena.

However, he claimed he had fallen out with trainer Peter Fury earlier this week after failing to get motivated for the fight on July 9.

After explaining he may need to look for a new trainer, Fury has now admitted he was just winding people up and is he is adamant he is ahead of schedule as he tries to return to peak fitness ahead of the rematch.

In a video on Instagram, he said: “Ok guys I’ve been fooling you all. There was no knockdowns in the gym, as if it’s possible for me to get chinned off a [light heavyweight]!

“I’ve lost over 10kg, feeling great and never been so on [course] for a fight with two months left to go.

Stripping the weight nicely, but keeping the muscle, all going good. I play mind games.”

Fury is priced at 1.95 to win the fight, with the draw 23.00, while Klitschko is the slight favourite at odds of 1.91.
