Cronulla Sharks centre Jack Bird is convinced his side can continue their NRL winning streak at Gold Coast Titans on Monday.

The Sharks head into the clash in second spot on the NRL ladder, level on points with leaders Melbourne Storm.

Cronulla are 1.40 to secure the win, but Bird says his side cannot afford to underestimate their opponents on Monday.

“We’ve got to face a classy outfit this week, if we go up there and don’t play to our ability, the Gold Coast will shock us,” Bird said in an interview on the club’s official website.

“We’d like to think we can go in week in, week out and win games … Hopefully we can keep winning games.

“I think we can improve, a lot. When we played the Broncos (a 30-28 victory at Southern Cross Group Stadium in Round 9), that was one of the best halves of footy we’ve played all year … We haven’t gone that far in every other game (since).

“There’s a lot more improvement, we’ve just got to keep doing what we’re doing, and hopefully keep winning games.”

Gold Coast, who are seventh on the ladder, are 2.80 to claim the victory and a draw is priced at 19.00.

The Sharks are 1.70 to win with a -4 handicap or 2.40 to score more than 26.5 points.
