Andy Murray says he is ready for the challenge of winning a second Wimbledon singles title despite the tough draw he has received at the All England Club.

Murray begins his campaign against Mikhail Kukushkin, world ranked 53 places below the Scot, on day two at SW19 but he knows he could potentially face ‘big four’ rivals Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic during week two at Wimbledon.

Nadal’s slide in the rankings means the 10th seed would meet Murray in the last-eight should they both survive but the Scot says he fears nobody.

“I don’t fear playing anyone but all the players have doubts and feel pressure at the top of the game,” he said.

“There are clearly players you’d like to steer clear of in the draw. Any of the top guys you’d be happy to avoid.”

Winner in 2013 at Wimbledon, Murray is 3.50 to repeat that success this year.

Defending champion Djokovic is 2.50 while Federer is 7.50 to land his 18th career grand slam success.

Murray says his game is in excellent shape heading into Wimbledon fortnight.

The world number three completed his warm-up with victory in the Aegon Championships at Queen’s – the same route he enjoyed in 2013.

“I feel physically strong, my game is in good shape and, all in all, I’m in a better place than in many years heading into Wimbledon – better than last year for sure,” Murray told the BBC.

“I don’t think I could have prepared any better for the biggest tournament of the year.”
