Novak Djokovic says he has no intention of ending his perfect record at the China Open as he goes for more glory in Beijing this week.

The world number one is, once again, expected to be the man everyone else will have to beat in China as he looks for what would be a record sixth title in the event.

The Serb has enjoyed another stellar year, winning seven singles crowns – including three Grand Slam titles in Australia, the US and Wimbledon – as he has dominated the men’s game again.

The 28-year-old has a perfect record at the China Open, winning 24 out of the 24 matches he has played at the tournament and he is not expected to have any trouble against Simone Bolleli in his opening match on Tuesday.

Djokovic says the Asian-leg of the ATP Tour is always one he relishes as he looks to finish the campaign on a high.

“I love playing these tournaments,” he said. “I’ve had lots of success in these two cities. The first time I came to Beijing was for the [2008] Olympic Games and I won the bronze medal.

“Ever since then, I’ve won five trophies here. Shanghai I won a couple times there, won the first Masters Cup. So the record that I have in these tournaments in China gives me a lot of obvious motivation to come back, a lot of great memories that I built my approach on for this year.”

Djokovic faces competition from the likes of David Goffin, David Ferrer, last year’s runner-up Tomas Berdych and Rafael Nadal as he again attempts to come out on top overall in Beijing.
