Rafael Nadal insists that his form on grass has been good so far this summer, as he prepares to try and win a third Wimbledon title.

The Spanish former world number one will go to the All England Club next week as 10th seed and placed in the same side of the draw as home favourite Andy Murray and seven-time winner Roger Federer.

However, despite enduring a difficult year so far, having failed in his bid to win ten French Open titles on clay before losing out to Alex Dolgopolov on grass in the first round at Queen’s Club last week, Nadal has reasons to be positive of adding to his 2008 and 2010 titles at SW19.

The 33-year-old won his first grass-court title since 2010 when he lifted the Mercedes Cup in Stuttgart, while he also enjoyed a straight sets exhibition win over Robin Haase at Stoke Park.

Speaking ahead of his first round clash against Brazil’s Thomaz Bellucci next week, Nadal said: “It was a good practice match for me against Robin.

“The last couple of tournaments I was playing well; good feelings on grass. Let’s try to be ready for next week.”

Nadal is 1.04 to win his first round game on Tuesday, while he can be backed at 21.00 to win the tournament outright.
