World number three Stan Wawrinka admits he is feeling good about his game after he cruised into the fourth round of the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells.

The Swiss star, 9.50 to win the upcoming French Open, was far too strong for Philipp Kohlschreiber as he secured a 7-5 6-3 win in just an hour and 18 minutes.

He showed a vast of array of shots as he continued to make his opponent work and the 31-year-old will now take on Japan’s Yoshihito Nishioka in the last 16.

Wawrinka has a strong chance of winning the event, with his half of the draw wide open following Andy Murray’s shock exit at the Masters 1000 event.

Speaking after the match, the three-time Grand Slam winner Wawrinka revealed he is feeling confident about his game. He said: “It was a really good match.

I’m very happy. I was serving well. I think I’m moving better and better and it’s all positive so far.” Elsewhere, eighth seed Dominic Thiem looked in good form as he dropped just five games on his way to beating Mischa Zverev 6-1 6-4.

David Goffin is also through after he overcame Albert Ramos-Vinolas 7-6 (7/3) 6-4. However, Vasek Pospisil, who beat Murray, is out after he lost to Dusan Lajovic while Gael Monfils was too strong for John Isner as he secured a 6-2 6-4 win.
