Arsenal look set to be without midfielder Mesut Ozil for at least a few weeks after the German star injured his hamstring during the 1-1 Champions League draw at Bayern Munich that eliminated the Gunners.

The 25-year-old playmaker was substituted at half-time as Arsene Wenger’s side failed to oust the title holders, going out 3-1 on aggregate.

Ozil will have a scan on Wednesday but is almost certainly out of the north London derby at Tottenham on Sunday and may miss other matches in the Premier League run-in.

“We have to make a scan to see how bad it is but he is out for at least a few weeks,” said Wenger.

The Gunners lie seven points behind leaders Chelsea and are now in the midst of an injury crisis with Ozil joining Jack Wilshere and Theo Walcott on the sidelines.

Wilshere was recently ruled out for at least six weeks with a foot injury that he appeared to pick up in England’s 1-0 friendly win over Denmark while Walcott has been out since he was stretchered off in the last north London derby.

Arsenal are 21.00 in the outright betting for the Premier League title after dropping points against Stoke City last time out.

Wenger’s men did bounce back from that defeat with a convincing 4-1 win over Everton in the FA Cup last weekend and, ahead of their semi-final tie against Wigan Athletic next month, they are the 1.40 favourites to win the trophy they last lifted in 2005.
